Commuter Assistants and Staff

There is staff across campus who are here to help students who commute have a successful transition to college and a positive North Central experience.  However, there are student staff and professional staff working specifically for the Commuter Life Program to implement its core principles of support, inclusion, and advocacy.

Meet the 2012-2013 Staff!

Commuter Assistants

They provide support for commuters, work to include commuters in the North Central College community through a variety of avenues, and also serve as advocates for commuter students.

Brian Warren is returning the the Commuter Life Program again this year.  He is a junior theater major and has performed in several productions at North Central, including Guys and Dolls and The Crucible.

Rosa Moraa is a senior International Business major.  She served as a field officer for Zanaa Africa, an organization the empowers and educates women.  Rosa is also active in FOCUS and the Entrepreneurship and International Business Organization student club.

Daniella Martinez is a sophomore majoring in chemistry.  She is active on campus in Raza Unida and Student Members of American Chemical Society.

Donna Suchecki will be with the Commuter Life Program for the fall semester before she graduates with a double major in biology and psychology.  She served as an Orientation leader for the summer and now works as an advocate for Mutual Ground, a shelter for abused women and chilrden.

Commuter Life Program Interns

Commuter Life Program interns serve the program in a role similar to the commuter assistants, but also take on special projects.

Desury Paredes will be interning with the CLP program for the year.  She is a sophomore majoring in nuclear medicine technology and biochemistry. Desury is part of the College Scholars program and is a member of Cardinals on Wheels and Raza Unida.

The Commuter Life Program is a subdivision of the Office of Student Involvement (OSI) and its staff is here to educate, empower, and support students in several capacities outside of the traditional academic classroom.

Amy Clarke-Sievers, Director of Student Involvement and Associate Director of First Year Experience                                             (aeclarkesievers@noctlr.edu, 630-637-5402)

Amy has worked with the Commuter Life Program for several years and serves first-year and transfer commuters through her role as the Associate Director of the First Year Experience program and as Director of Orientation.  She also leads the Orientation Leaders and First Year Mentors, advises the Finance Committee of Student Governing Association, and spearheads the development of parent programs at North Central.  Amy graduated from North Central College with a major in exercise science and has her master's degree in Higher Education in Student Affairs from South Carolina University.

Brianne Rogers, Assistant Director of Student Involvement (bsrogers@noctrl.edu, 630-637-5401)

Brianne supervises the commuter assistants and CLP interns, and serves as the central professional staff contact for the Commuter Life Program.  She also advises the College Union Activities Board (CUAB) and supervises the Harold and Eva White Activities Center front desk assistants and building supervisors.  She graduated from Northern Michigan University with a major in public administration and minors in public relations and art history.  Brianne has her master's in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.                                               

Brooke Van Crey-Coutteau, Graduate Assistant for OSI (bevancrey@noctrl.edu, 630-637-5421)

Brooke graduated from North Central with a major in psychology and is pursuing a master's degree in leadership studies with an emphasis in higher education.  She oversees Saturday Night at the Cage (SNAC) supervisors, co-advises CUAB, and lead Cardinal Club Connection, professional and personal development training for student organization leaders.
